Have you heard of a Luckenbooth Brooch? It's a traditional Scottish brooch originally coming from the Edinburgh Royal Mile. They date back to the 16th century (and some say much longer!) and were worn to ward off evil spirits, which is how they got the nickname of a witch's brooch. I've heard them both being given as an engagement brooch, handed down in families, and worn by both women and children. Great little piece of Scottish jewelry history!
This high quality version is crafted in Silver and 14K Yellow Gold, and features the hearts Pave Set with Diamonds, and a crown of Seed Pearls - quite the luxury! There are a total of 22 Old Mine Cut Diamonds, totaling approximately 0.44ct, of H/VS2 quality, and 5 petite Seed Pearls on top. On the back is a pin, and with room to loop a chain through if desired.
