Well well well. If only this tiara could talk - I'd just love to know the people and outfits this significant piece has graced.
Let's start with the tiara. Circa 1880, the theme is a scrolled motif of the crescent moon and stars, all set throughout with antique diamonds. The largest stone measures 8mm, is a deep, old mine cut, of approximately 2.00ct. The rest of the diamonds total approximately 15.00cts, and are all of varying quality.
And now to a fun part - most pieces of this tiara are detachable (the main diamond, all three stars, and the large crescent), and come with their own fittings to be worn separately, including pendants, earrings, brooches, ring, and hair ornaments.
The piece also comes with own fitted box (please note the tiara needs to be disassembled to fit in the box properly), and the box is signed by a late victorian era Italian royal jeweler. Whoa!
